Stage by stage…
Initial Visit and Survey
…to meet you and see your garden, and discuss your ideas and wishlist, from which the design Brief will grow. We will discuss the process to create your new garden, and how budget might best be used. Once you have decided to go ahead I can arrange to take a survey, or for more complex sites an independent surveyor may be instructed.
Concept Plan
With the Brief, I create a hand drawn concept design for the garden, a scaled plan showing the layout of the new garden and placing of the most important trees and plants. At this stage there is the chance to make minor alterations to the design, which leads to...
Detailed Outline Plan
…the finalised design, from which the other necessary elements- planting plans, construction drawings and layout plans will be developed.
Planting Plans
Whether they are soft cottage garden plants with roses and perennials, or shrubs that can cope with the knock of a football, the choice of plants is crucial if the garden is to succeed- aspect, drainage and soil type are all taken into consideration when choosing plants that will thrive. I aim to bring life to every season through bark and stems, foliage, and of course flowers.
Construction Drawings, Specifications and Monitoring
Construction Drawings and Specifications are crucial to ensure your garden is built as designed.
I can draw up documents for tenders for landscape contractors, or specialist water and lighting contractors as needed.
Site visits to monitor progress can be arranged.
Planting
A hugely exciting part of your project as the final dressing of your garden takes place with your chosen plants. I can source and arrange the supply of plants, and oversee the planting itself if required. A plant maintenance schedule will be provided ensuring your planting can be looked after over the coming months and years.
